After the signing of the Treaty of  Varkiza,  33  women  witness  how  they  managed  to  escape  to  the mountains while others were arrested and condemned to life imprisonment, executed or sent into exile.

“Among the Rocks” is the second part of a trilogy that highlights the feistiness and strength of the female soul via personal accounts and evidence. It follows “Birds in the Mire” (2008) and is followed by “The Girls of the Rain” (2012).

A poetic experimental film. A journey which leads to the discovery and  final  acceptance  of  the  personal  vision  through  an  alternate  scenery, where good and evil constantly change forms as the final destination  becomes  clearer  and  clearer:  The  deeper  repressed  memory.

Antouanetta  Angelidi’s  experimental  and  highly  allegorical  film  is  divided  into  three  independently  existing  segments:  The  Net,  The  Dice  and  Free  Will,  each  one  representing  a  philosophical  idea.  These segments intertwine because of the involvement of the Thief who is the connecting link between the three reality perspectives.

According to Antouanetta Angelidi the film explores: The different levels of reality that can be experienced, the realization that we are all mortals. And finally, the film is an ongoing conversation with European culture.
