Based  on  true  events,  the  film  tells  the  story  of  one  of  the  last  Western manhunts. In 1909 young Paiute Indian Willie Boy returns to  his  California  reservation  to  be  with  his  darling  Lola,  whose  father disapproves of him. When the two men meet a killing in self defense takes place, triggering a massive man hunt for Willie led by Sheriff Christopher Cooper and his search posse.

After  being  blacklisted  from  Hollywood  for  21  years,  Abraham  Polonsky  made a comeback directing this film; he had not directed a film since "Force of Evil" in 1948.

The film was nominated at the Academy Awards for Best Original Screenplay and Best Original Score and won other awards, honors and nominations in many film festivals around the world.

Zabriskie Point is the only film that the great auteur shot in the USA.

The leading roles were played by Daria Halpirn and Mark Frechette who were both non-professional actors.

This documentary in a vibrant attitude of youth and rebellion and it also brings together super groups and artists such as Richie Havens, Joe Cocker, Santana, Ten Years After, Sly and The Family Stone, The Who, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and many more.

Woodstock was a great commercial and critical success. It received the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature.
