Panos is a young doctor who leaves city life behind him in order to offer his services in a remote village. Determined to cure her Panos will soon discover that things are not quite what they seem.

The film is the director’s debut full-length feature. Nikolakakis, who co-penned the script with John de Holland, started the development of the project at Talents Sarajevo where he won the Pack and Pitch Award, at MIDPOINT, in Balkan Film Connection in Belgrade and in the Istanbul Film Festival’s Meetings on the Bridge.

Zabriskie Point is the only film that the great auteur shot in the USA. | The leading roles were played by Daria Halpirn and Mark Frechette who were both non-professional actors.

The soundtrack to Zabriskie Point included music from Pink Floyd, The Youngbloods, Kaleidoscope, Jerry Garcia, Patti Page, Grateful Dead, the Rolling Stones, John Fahey, Roy Orbison

This  marks  the  first  film  appearance  of  Jacques  Tati’s  iconic  character,  Monsieur Hulot and is considered to be one of the greatest comedies in the history of cinema.

Many  of  the  shots  were  composed  and  filmed  in  order  to  evoke  certain  eighteenth-century paintings, especially those by Thomas Gainsborough.

The  documentary  depicts  the  role  of  women  during  extreme  historical   events.   More   specifically,   the   film   refers   to   the   participation and contribution of women to the Greek Resistance during  the  German  Occupation  as  well  as  to  the  tortures  they  suffered.  The film is based on the oral testimonies of those women that survived.
“Birds in the Mire” is the first part of a trilogy followed by “Among the Rocks” and “The Girls of the Rain” that highlights the feistiness and strength of the female soul via personal accounts and evidence.

During  a  ficticious  war  in  an  unidentified  country  four  soldiers  survive  the  crash-landing  of  their  plane  to  find  themselves  in  a  forest  six  miles  behind  enemy  lines.  The  group’s  plan  is  to  make  their  way  to  a  nearby  river,  build  a  raft,  and  then,  under  cover  of  night, float back to friendly territory.
Stanley Kubrick ‘s father borrowed $20.000 from his life insurance policy and his uncle, a pharmacist, also put up $15.000 to finance the film.

Α divorced British professor of French literature, travels to small-town in America for a teaching position. There he allows himself to  be  swept  into  a  relationship  with  his  widowed  and  sexually  famished  landlady.  He  eventually  marries  her  in  order  to  pursue  her 14-year-old flirtatious daughter, Lolita, with whom he has fallen hopelessly in love.
Sue Lyon went horseback riding everyday after filming. Stanley Kubrick told her: “If you get thrown, roll over. Don’t hurt your face”.

The film is prefaced by Costas Ferris.

Rosa  Delli  is  an  actress  notorious  for  her  erotic  scandals.  When  she  is  found  stabbed  to  death  in  her  dressing  room  inspector  Bekas undertakes the challenge to solve this case and is asked to answer the following questions: Who killed Rosa Delli and how the murder was carried out since the door was locked from the inside?
The film won 2 awards at Thessaloniki Film Festival 1960: Best Supporting Actress and Best Cinematography.

After  spending  5  years  in  Alcatraz,  Johnny  Clay  decides  that  if  he’s  going  to  commit  crimes,  the  risk  had  better  be  worth  the  punishment.  He  then  proceeds  to  mastermind  a  brilliant  criminal  scheme  to  steal  $2,000,000  from  a  local  racetrack  in  which  “no  one  will  get  hurt”.  The  only  flaw  in  his  plan  is  that  he  does  not  consider  one  of  his  co-horts’  greedy,  shrewish  wife  and  her  ruthless boyfriend.
Kirk Douglas was so impressed with this film that he sought out the director for his next project, Paths Of Glory (1957).

In the future, the violent and psychopath delinquent Alex, leader of a gang of ultra-violent criminal teenagers who kill, steal and rape, falls  into  the  hands  of  the  police.  Arrested,  Alex  turns  guinea  pig  for experiments intended to curb the destructive impulses of men and  solve  the  society’s  crime  problems,  but  ends  up  becoming  powerless to deal with the violence that surrounds him.
Before  the  rape  scene  was  filmed,  Adrienne  Corri  (a  blonde  in  the  film)  walked  up  to  Malcolm  McDowell  and  said:  “Well,  Malcolm,  today  you’re  going to find out I’m a real redhead”.

The film is prefaced by Christos Skyllakos.

Laurel and Hardy were a comedy duo act during the early Classical Hollywood  era  of  American  cinema.  The  team  was  composed  of  Englishman  Stan  Laurel  and  American  Oliver  Hardy.  They  became  well known during the late 1920s to the mid-1940s for their slapstick comedy, with Laurel playing the clumsy and childlike friend of the pompous bully Hardy. They appeared as a team in 107 films, starring in  32  short  silent  films,  40  short  sound  films,  and  23  full-length  feature films.
For this Tribute the following films will be screened: Big business, You’re Darn Tootin,The Bettle of the Century, The finishing Touch, Two Tars, The Second Hundred Years,Liberty Lucky Dog, Early to Bed and Duck Soup.

Prize-fighter   Davy   Gordon   intervenes   when   private   dancer   Gloria Price is being attacked by her employer and lover Vincent Raphello. This brings the two together and they get involved with each  other,  which  displeases  Raphello.  He  sends  men  out  to  kill  Davy, but they instead kill his friend. Gloria is soon kidnapped by Raphello and his men, and it is up to Davy to save her.
Working  with  practically  no  budget  and  largely  without  on-location  filming  permits, Stanley Kubrick had to remain unnoticed while shooting in downtown New York.

The film is prefaced by Dimitris Panayiotatos.

The  futility  and  irony  of  war  in  the  trenches  of  WWI.  A  unit  commander  in  the  French  army  must  deal  with  a  glory-seeking  general who’s accusing his soldiers of cowardice after their refusal to attack an enemy position. At the same time, as their commanding officer, he has to defend his men for their righteous mutiny.
Winston Churchill said that the film was a highly accurate depiction of trench warfare and the sometimes misguided workings of the military mind.

The film is prefaced by Ninos Mikelides.

At  Thessaloniki  Film  Festival  in  1969,  the  film  won  the  Greek  Competition  Award for Best Music.
