Exhibition Opening: Artistic Trilogy

The Panorama of European Cinema gave a sneak preview of this year’s programme at the 8th of October with the opening of the art exhibition ‘’Artistic Trilogy – A discourse between Painting and Cinema - A tribute to Stanley Kubrick” curated by Jannis Psychopedis, at Ethniki Hellenic General Insurance Company’s art space "StoArt" art gallery.

The event attracted the attention of many cinematographers, actors and visual artists who gathered at "StoArt", Korai Arcade from very early in the evening. Among them some prominent filmmakers and actors/actresses such as: Tonis Lykouresis, Vera Krouska, Takis Papagiannidis, Vasilis Vafeas, Dimitris Athanitis, Vasilis Mazomenos.

Young artists Virginia Axioti, Andriana Kotsi and Katerina Christopoulou, all graduates of Athens School of Fine Arts and students of Jannis Psychopedis, exhibited their work inspired by three films of this great director; in particular “A Clockwork Orange” inspired Virginia Axioti, “2001: A Space Odyssey” inspired Andriana Kotsi and “The Shining” inspired Katerina Christopoulou.

The 32nd Panorama of European Cinema is held from Thursday, November 21 to Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at TRIANON Cinema (Kodrigktonos 21) and ANDORA Cinema (Sevastoupoleos 117).

The full festival programme, screening schedule and other parallel events which consist of world cinema premieres, international competition section, tributes, masterclasses etc., will be announced shortly.
