Vaggelis Raptopoulos recommends this movie:

raptopoulos“What I liked the most in Constantina Voulgaris’ Congratulations to the Optimists, is the film’s straightforwardness and effortlessness, which keeps a low profile, despite the fact that its theme is socially vociferous. Maria Georgiadou illuminates as the lead actress and Nikos Veliotis composes the movie’s beautiful soundtrack. Finally, the realistic documentation of anarchists’ everyday life in Exarchia, gives the movie the value of a rare documentary. Perhaps, the main character’s personality is not fully formed. Another disadvantage is the idealization of the anarchical society. Personally, the crisis drives me to embrace the local pieces of work. I also hope that this drive will be generalized, because, if we fail to care for our collectivistic selves, we won’t be able to overcome the crisis and it will worsen even more.
