In the early ‘70s, M. Mercouri was discussing with R. Manthoulis about a film that would expose everything that was happening in Greece during the dictatorship. Thirty years later, R. Manthoulis completed this idea about the tragic and comic events in the life of the exiled Greeks in Paris after the 1967 coup.

In the 1890’s, the young, kind-hearted but naive Stavros lived in Anatolia but dreamed of a better life - specifically in America – where he could make his parents proud by his grand accomplishments. Instead, his parents, with most of their money, sent Stavros to Constan- tinople to help fund the carpet shop owned by his first cousin. Of course, once in Constan- tinople, his resolve to earn the money for a third class fare to the US, made him stronger than ever.

Two sisters, working as maids in an isolated farmhouse, aren’t paid due to the economic downturn of their bosses. The announcement of the house’s sale make them snap out of control into pure insanity, slaughtering their employers, their mistress and her daughter. Les Abysses, which was the official French selection at the Cannes Film Festival, caused controversial reactions and was analyzed by many French intellectuals.

A pair of teenage girls are headed to a rock concert for one's birthday. While trying to score marijuana in the city, the girls are kidnapped by a gang of convicts. Later the gang finds shelter in the girl’s parent’s house. Craven’s film is nihilistic allegory of America at the times of the Vietnam war and radical social changes. The film was banned in many countries for as long as three decades.

Herbert, a dedicated student at a medical college and his girlfriend become involved in bizarre experiment around the re-animation of dead tissue. The experiment is conducted by an odd new student, Dan, who becomes Herbert’s incorrigible housemate in this campy sendup of an H.P. Lovecraft story. The emphasis is on humour but once the dead walk, there is really plenty of gore.

The New Yorker Liza Merril inherits an old hotel in Louisiana, and invests her savings to reopen the place. While repairing the building, many people die, and local Dr. John McCabe feels close to Liza and tries to help her to solve the mystery of the hotel. Meanwhile, Emily, a blind woman, advises Liza to leave the place as soon as possible. Later they realize that the place is one gate of hell and has been opened, permitting the dead walk on Earth.
